Special thanks to Chris Stoney & Jamie Longstaff for allowing us the run of ‘Green Valley’ for the bush ride weekend. I’m sure you’ll agree, it is an absolutely awesome location – with a huge area for camping, and a great array of different terrains to test out a huge variety of riding techniques and abilities.
We ran a number of different tracks and rides across the weekend, to cater to the different bike and rider abilities, including:
We also had a 10km “property tour” where the kids rode, supervised, around a designated route throughout the property. There were a few hills, mud flats etc that the kids had a go at conquering, but only on the lead rider (Committee) approval! The undulating property, with the green spring grass certainly made for some beautiful scenery during the farm rides. These rides, in some cases, took over an hour – so the kids really had some decent rides, and got some great ‘off track’ riding under their belts. Having to negotiate natural terrain and obstacles certainly raised a few challenges for some – but the kids are resourceful & found their way through!
